FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of making articles from composite materials involves placing in a retort a closed volume of a crucible with silicon and the workpiece(s) to be siliconised made of porous heat-resistant material, placed on a support and/or a tool which holds the shape thereof, siliconisation thereof using a vapour-liquid method by heating, holding at carbidisation temperature of silicon and cooling in vapour thereof. Before mounting the workpiece(s) on the support and/or tool which holds the shape thereof, the surfaces thereof in contact with the workpiece are coated with boron nitride or carbonitride or spacers or elements, made of said materials, which hold the shape of the workpiece are placed between the workpiece and the support or tool.
EFFECT: reduced formation of defects on the surface of the articles.
