Abstract RU 2561101 C1

FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: production of CSCC comprises the making of blank from porous carbon-bearing material. Slurry coat based on composition of metalising carbide-forming agent and temporary binder is applied on said blank. It is heated and held at 1700-1900°C and cooled in vacuum in vapours of silicon in the retort closed volume at heating of crucibles with silicon to temperature higher than that of siliconised blank. Blank heating from 1300°C to 1600-1650°C is performed at crucible with silicon temperature higher than that of the blank by 20-150°C. Note here that lower blank temperature corresponds to larger temperature difference and, on the contrary, smaller difference corresponds to higher temperature. Blank heating from 1300°C to 1400°C is performed in stepwise manner with isothermal exposure in said temperature range.

EFFECT: simplified fabrication of large articles from CSCC at sufficient quality.
