FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: temperatures of the front and rear walls of a column 2 and a spindle head 1 are measured and provide basis for calculation of the average excessive temperature values of the front and rear walls of the column 2 and the spindle head 1. Permissible value of excessive temperature of the spindle head is calculated for the specified value of axial temperature deformations of machine operating members and the obtained value is compared to the average temperature value of the spindle head 1. In case the value of the excessive spindle head temperature and its average value are not equal, the spindle head temperature is changed.
EFFECT: improved control accuracy, expansion of technological capabilities, increased reliability and stability of mutual axial alignment of operating metalcutter members in the course of the machine operation.
