FIELD: physics, measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diagnosis of the technical state of machines and mechanisms, and can be used, for example, to evaluate the technical state of metal-cutting machines and structural components thereof. The method includes determining a list of diagnosed parameters and possible defects of machines, determining the values of said diagnosed parameters and defects, installing chronometric sensors of operating phases of the machines on parts of the machines in order to take measurements, and recording readings in a single metrological field, analysing sensor readings and refining values of the diagnosed parameters using mathematical models. The method also includes monitoring the state of components and parts of the machines, taking into account intactness of machines and external operating conditions in the form of temperature and humidity.

EFFECT: high accuracy of measurement and diagnosis.
