METHOD OF LOCATING RADIO-FREQUENCY SOURCE Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC G01S5/00

Abstract RU 2516432 C2

FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in multiposition radio systems with mobile receiving stations mounted, for example, on aircraft. The method involves periodically receiving source radio signals simultaneously at not less than two spaced-apart mobile receiving stations, synchronously measuring eigen coordinates and parameters of the velocity vector, followed by transmission thereof and the received radio signals to a central station and locating the radio-frequency source. At the central station in each reception period, Doppler frequency shift and mutual delay of moments of arrival of electromagnetic waves from possible locations of the source to the receiving stations are calculated taking into account measured eigen coordinates thereof and parameters of the velocity vector; energy of the received radio signals is measured; the average geometric energy is determined for different pairs of radio signals; values of the modulus of complex cross-correlation functions are measured at points of design delays and Doppler frequency shifts, which are subtracted from the average geometric energy, and the obtained differences are averaged based on the plurality of different pairs of radio signals and reception periods and the radio-frequency source is located based on the minimum of said averaged values.

EFFECT: wider field of application with an arbitrary number of receiving stations and time intervals of movement with increase in accuracy of determining coordinates to the potential limit.
