SUBSTANCE: invention relates to techniques for managing streaming media services, particularly a method and a system for unified management of service channels and streaming media services on demand. The method comprises steps where a service processing element receives an instruction to create a channel and, based on said instruction, obtains channel resources required by channel services from a streaming media service element, and performs control interaction with the streaming media service element where the channel resources are located; the service processing element receives a real-time streaming protocol (RTSP) request and, based on said request, obtains resources required by the services on demand and performs control interaction with the streaming media service element where the resources on demand are located.

EFFECT: providing unified management of channel services and streaming media services on demand.
