FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: piston ring 1 takes up additional radial pressure from separate precompressed coil springs 6 set in the respective cylindrical holes 7 which are made in a piston 3 along its radial axes 8 periodically. End faces 11 of the coil springs 6 on the side of the inner circumferential surface 9 of the piston 3 are backed up by a self-expanding flat split removable locking ring 12. Opposite end faces 14 of the compressed coil springs 6 rest against the end faces 15 of cylindrical rods 16. Opposite end faces 17 of the cylindrical rods 16 through bow-shaped strips 18 are in contact with the inner circumferential surface 19 of the piston ring 1 providing for additional radial pressure on the surface of the engine cylinder 5. The novel consists in the fact that cylindrical holes 7 where the coil springs 6 are set, are made at the radius of the piston 3 on its circumference of the same diameter and are of through type. The number of cylindrical holes 7 in the piston is twice reduced and respectively the number of coil springs 6 is reduced twice as well. Manufacturing procedure for the piston and radial expander is simplified.
EFFECT: simplified design of a piston ring with auxiliary spring power.
