SUBSTANCE: electrically heated smoking system contains the following elements: a smoking product containing identification information printed on the product; a cavity for at least partial reception of the smoking product; at least one heating element; an energy source for energy supply to the said at least one heating element; electrical means connected to the energy source and to the said at least one heating element and a detector able to detect the smoking product presence in the cavity and to differentiate the smoking product from other products designed for usage with the smoking system based on the identification information printed on the smoking product.

EFFECT: method ensures identification of the smoking product heated by the smoking system.
