SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tobacco industry, more specifically to electronic smoking devices. Disclosed is an electrically controlled smoking device configured to house a smoking article and comprising a body forming a cavity for at least partially accommodating smoking article (12), and a reading system for detecting marks on a smoking article located on the periphery of said cavity. Reading system comprises a light source, a mirror, image detector (44) and a plurality of microlenses arranged on the image detector.

EFFECT: technical result is identification of smoking articles, compactness and low power consumption with reliable and minimum error rejection of acceptable smoking articles.
