SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tobacco industry, more specifically to electronic smoking devices. Disclosed is an electrically controlled smoking device configured to place a smoking article and comprising a body forming a cavity for at least partially placing the smoking article and a reading system for detecting marks on the smoking article located on the periphery of said cavity. Reading system has a light source, a mirror, an image forming lens and an image detector, wherein the mirror is located on the inner surface of said cavity adjacent to the light source and the imaging lens.

EFFECT: technical result is providing a possibility of displaying a wide field of view in a small space, identification of smoking articles, compactness and low power consumption with reliable and minimum erroneous deviation of acceptable smoking articles.
