SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol-generating device, an aerosol-generating system, and a method for generating an output signal in the aerosol-generated device. Aerosol generating device comprises a housing comprising an air inlet, an air outlet and an air flow passage extending therebetween, an aerosol generating element located within the air flow passage and configured to generate an aerosol, a sensor connected to the housing and configured to generate a time-dependent air flow signal corresponding to the time-dependent force exerted by the user puff on the air outlet, a tactile output element connected to the housing, and a circuit operably connected to the sensor to receive a time-dependent air flow signal during a puff by a user. Circuit is further operably connected to the tactile output element and is configured to be actuated based on the time-dependent air flow signal, tactile output element with time-dependent frequencies or time-dependent intervals during user puffing.
EFFECT: enhanced user feedback is provided by providing an interface in an aerosol-generating system comprising a tactile output element which is configured to transmit information to the user through the tactile sensations of the user.
