SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus and a method of receiving signals. The apparatus includes: a radius identification unit configured to identify a radius, which is the distance from the coordinate origin on the plane of IQ signal points, each corresponding to a symbol obtained from a received signal which is modulated using an amplitude-phase modulation technique; and a parameter outputting unit configured to output a control parameter associated with demodulation or a process of decoding the received signal based on the identified radius.

EFFECT: enabling calculation of the average value of received signals for each signal point.
