SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment. An electronic sphygmomanometer contains a pressure sensor for determination of the internal pressure in an enclosed space, a device for control of air input and output relative to the enclosed space, an arithmetic device and a mechanism for changeover the area in the enclosed space, connected with the pressure sensor, between the first space and second space. The first and second spaces are different from each other. The arithmetic device performs an arithmetic procedure of calculating blood pressure in the area of measurement, around which applied is a pneumatic chamber, contained in the enclosed space, and a determining procedure of determination whether there is air leak from the enclosed space on the basis of the internal pressure measurement. The control device controls changeover of the changeover mechanism, when the arithmetic device performs the determining procedure. The arithmetic device additionally identifies a space of air leak in the process of the determining procedure.

EFFECT: application of the invention will make it possible to increase accuracy of the blood pressure measurement and simplify the procedure of air leak determination.
