SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment. An electronic sphygmomanometer contains a cuff, a pressure sensor for determination of pressure inside the cuff, a unit of measurement control for control of measurement of blood pressure in a person to be measured by a signal from the pressure sensor; a power unit, which contains the primary battery and the secondary battery; detectors of the characteristic value for obtaining the characteristic value of each of the primary battery and secondary battery; compression units for pumping cuff pressure with application of power, supplied from the power unit; and switching the control unit for selection of the power source for bringing into action the electronic sphygmomanometer, by switching the primary battery and secondary battery. The switching control unit is made with a possibility of comparing the characteristic value, obtained by the detectors of the characteristic value, and the first threshold value after starting the electronic sphygmomanometer, selecting the primary battery or secondary battery basing on the comparison result, comparing the characteristic value, obtained by the detectors of the characteristic value, and the second threshold value, larger than the first threshold value, before compression by means of compression units, after starting, and selecting the primary battery or secondary battery basing on the comparison result.
EFFECT: providing uninterrupted and efficient work of the sphygmomanometer.
