SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment. An electronic sphygmomanometer for blood pressure measurement in a measuring point from both left and right sides of a patient's body comprises a cuff applied on the measuring point on the left or right side of the patient's body, a setup processor for setting up the suggested measuring point specifying the measuring point for insertion into the cuff from the measuring point on the left or right side of the patient's body, an annunciator for announcing the suggested measuring point as set up by the setup processor, a detection unit for detecting if the measuring unit inserted into the cuff is the measuring unit on the left or right side of the patient's body, and a determination unit for determining if the inserted measuring point is aligned with the suggested measuring point by comparing the suggested measuring point set up by the setup processor and a detected result provided by the detection unit. The annunciator is provided to announce the result determined by the determination unit.
EFFECT: using the invention enables providing higher accuracy of the blood pressure measurement.
