FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine. An electronic sphygmomanometer for blood pressure measurement in a peripheral measuring point in a patient in need thereof comprises the first and second cuffs wrapped around the peripheral measuring point and about a shoulder respectively, a manometer unit for detecting the first and second pressure signals in the first and second cuffs respectively, a setting processor for setting an equilibrium value of the shoulder on the basis of the second signal, a measurement control unit for pressure measurement on the basis of the first signal and arranged in the pre-set position of the first cuff, the first volume determination unit for detecting the first signal of arterial volume in the peripheral measuring point. The equilibrium value of the shoulder and the peripheral equilibrium value represents the cuff pressure in the condition wherein the internal and external pressure of the shoulder artery and the peripheral artery are balanced respectively. The measurement control unit corrects the pressure value so that the peripheral equilibrium value is in good agreement with the equilibrium value of the shoulder. The measurement control unit regulates the arterial volume continuously on the basis of the first signal of the arterial volume for continuous pressure measurement. The peripheral equilibrium value is in line with the initial cuff pressure representing a reference value of the first signal of the cuff pressure in the process of continuous regulation of the arterial volume.

EFFECT: using the invention enables providing higher blood pressure measurement accuracy in the peripheral measuring point.
