FIELD: heating.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to heat insulation of main and process oil pipelines and oil product pipelines, namely, to the method of heat insulation of shutoff and control valves (SCV) of small diameters. Heat insulation method for SCV of small diameters involves design and manufacturing of heat insulation from foam glass with a protective cover individually for each valve type taking into account the geometric dimensions and peculiarities of their design; the heat insulation comprises two or more parts connected by fastening elements which provide for the access for maintenance and repair of the valves; the heat insulation seams are sealed by sealing gaskets from foamed rubber and the inner surface of the heat insulation layer contacting with the valves is coated with antiabrasive material to protect its anticorrosion coating.
EFFECT: creation of fire safe heat insulation for shutoff and control valves of small diameters which is protected against external forces and provides for the valves' maintenance and repair.
