FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spectroscopy and refers to a method and a system for spectrum data analysis. The data are analysed by the comparison of the accumulated spectrum to a set of elementary data standards. The comparison involves the calculation of weights by least square method with the following removal of elementary data standards having negative weights, the calculation of the spectrum approximation with removed standards and the calculation of initial error. The spectrum approximation with least error is defined basing on the iterative removal of elementary data standards. Abundance ratio of elements in the examined substance is defined on the basis of weight factors of elementary data standards in the approximation with least error.
EFFECT: provision for possibility to identify substances at small volume of accumulated data and faster identification of the substance being examined.
