SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of medical equipment and is intended for teeth cleaning. The electric toothbrush contains the main body, an orientation sensor and a control for automatic switching of the driving source operation mode. The electric toothbrush main body includes the brush driving source. The orientation sensor is intended for determination of the electric toothbrush main body orientation. The control is intended for automatic switching of the driving source operation mode from among multiple operation modes in accordance with the result of comparison of the orientation value representing the value calculated based on the orientation sensor output signal against the pre-set threshold value. For the first threshold value (used for determination of switching from the first operation mode into the second operation mode) and the second threshold value (used for switching from the second operation mode to the first operation mode) different values are set.
