FIELD: physics; control.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for remote monitoring of an area and can be used in detection means with an extended detachable linear part. The technical result is higher accuracy of determining a point of intrusion of a signalling boundary. The method involves deploying an extended detachable linear part of two detection means as a single signalling boundary, followed by determination of the area of intrusion of the signalling boundary by recording the interval of delay between successive arrivals of alarm signals and association thereof with one of three non-overlapping ranges of time intervals defined by geometric dimensions of the boundary and the range of possible velocities of the intruder. The method includes a preparatory step of deploying an extended detachable linear part of two detection means when constructing a signalling boundary, arbitrarily broken down into three areas, and with a configuration which provides a three-fold difference in the ratio of distances between extended detachable linear parts on neighbouring areas, and a main step which begins from the moment the intruder crosses the signalling boundary. The main step includes recording the time interval of delay between successive arrivals of alarm signals from the detection means and determining the area of intrusion using an algorithm which compares the obtained time interval with three non-overlapping ranges of time intervals calculated analytically for each of the areas, taking into account the possible range of velocities of the intruder on said location and individual distances between extended detachable linear parts on said areas.
EFFECT: three-fold increase accuracy of indicating a point of intrusion of a signalling boundary using only three detection means without deploying additional detection means.
