FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in manufacturing visualisation systems in computer tomographs. Scintillation material contains modified gadolinium oxysulfide (GOS), in which approximately from 25% to 75% of gadolinium (Gd) are substituted with lanthanum (La) or approximately not more than 50% of gadolinium (Gd) are substituted with lutetium (Lu). Part of gadolinium (Gd) can be additionally substituted with at least one element, selected from the group, consisting of yttrium (Y) and lutetium (Lu). GOS additionally contains cerium (Ce) and/or praseodymium (Pr) as admixture. Ceramic GOS is crystalline. Visualisation device contains at least one radiation source and radiation detector, which contains said scintillation material, as well as photodetector, optically connected with it. Spectral filter for blocking light with wavelength exceeding approximately 900 nm, or infrared light, emitted by scintillation material, is placed between scintillation material and photodetector.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce afterglow of scintillation material.
