FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for boding titanium and steel parts together by diffusion welding, particularly, in production of turbine shafts for gas turbine engines. Two thin inserts (14, 16) of niobium or vanadium and copper are arranged between titanium and steel parts (10), (12), respectively. Obtained assembly of parts and insert is subjected to hot isostatic compression at 900 to 950°C and 1000 to 1500 bar for about two hours. Now, controlled cooling is performed.
EFFECT: decreased shear strain in inserts, hence, ruled out damage.
