SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to electrophysiology. The device includes a registration unit (25) for registering (120) a 3D-representation of a subject, which comprises a plurality of segments corresponding to a plurality of structural regions of the subject, with a 2D-image (200), wherein the registration unit is adapted to define a plurality of areas (205, 210, 215) in the image such that at least one area of the plurality of areas is associated with a respective region of the plurality of regions, and a localisation unit (30) for localising (125) the object, extracting an indication of the object from the image by processing the image, wherein the processing is limited to an object area of the plurality of areas which is associated with a predetermined object region.
EFFECT: enabling more accurate determination of the position of an object, thereby improving quality of localisation.
