FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to parts for overhead system of electric railroad contact wires, specifically to compensating devices. Two rows of mutually symmetrical helical teeth are made on outer circumference of compensating device ratched wheel body (1) large wheel. The helical teeth are formed by circumferential teeth and side teeth. The circumferential teeth are located at both sides of large wheel circumferential surface, and side teeth are located on side walls of large wheel. U-shaped locking hole is formed on front end of locking panel (5). Locking hole width corresponds to distance between roots of two side teeth.
EFFECT: higher braking capability when compensating load is acting and safety during braking, permits to use increased operating tensile forces and compensating distance.
