FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to tungsten carbide-based alloys with rhenium-alloyed binder. It can be used for cutting of hard-to-machine materials based on refractory metals, steels and alloys used for production of parts operated at high temperatures, for example, boilers, gas turbines, jet engines, nuclear reactors. Tungsten carbide-based alloy contains tungsten carbide and binder containing 52-55 wt. % of rhenium, cobalt making the rest.
EFFECT: higher heat resistance and strength, operating temperature and hardness.
