FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method involves rotation of a grinding disk and translational displacement of a workpiece being treated. The grinding disk is rigidly fixed between two disks from a conducting material which are connected to the negative pole of a power supply source and are set with a gap in respect to the surface of the workpiece connected to the positive pole of the power supply source. An electrolyte is supplied by a connecting pipe to the said gap between the disks and the treated workpiece for the purpose of electrochemical softening of the material on the treated workpiece section with its further removal by the grinding disk.
EFFECT: improved quality of the machined surface, reduced specific consumption of an abradant.
