FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of machine building. At installation of an engine on a foundation, prior to location, hydrodynamometers (1) and at least 3 jacks (2) are set under the unit, the hydrodynamometers are combined in three groups (I, II and III) under the condition on providing for equal bearing loads. Each group (I, II, III) is connected to one of the controlled pump stations by a pressure line. The engine is hung up on the hydrodynamometers. Stabilised pressure Q_cm.i is set in the pressure lines by pump stations. The location of the engine is performed by the jacks (2) without the stabilised pressure being changed. The hydrodynamometers (1) and jacks (2) are removed after pads are installed.

EFFECT: reduced duration of the engine installation process.
