FIELD: woodworking industry.
SUBSTANCE: timber drying method under reduced pressure of a medium involves cyclic heating of timber and further vacuum pumping until the moisture content of wood assortment stops to decrease, the method is distinguished for the fact that timber placed between the rows of heating elements is treated by heat in a multistage mode, the hardness of the medium at each stage is changed - oscillated with the amplitude permanent for this stage with the oscillation number depending on the timber species and its moisture content, and the maximal temperature and pressure of the medium at each stage are chosen as per the conditions like t1>t2<t3<…<ti and P1<P2>P3>…>Pi, where ti stands for the maximal temperature of the medium, °C; Pi - for the maximal pressure of the vacuum at i-stage, kPa, duration of every stage directly depends on the current moisture content of the timber.
EFFECT: high quality of timber drying, reduced power consumption.
