FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of obtaining N-substituted 2,5-dithiocyanato-1H-pyrroles of the general formula where R stands for lower alkyl or phenyl, by interaction of potassium thiocyanate (KSCN) with respective N-substituted 1H-pyrrole under an action of oxidant - potassium peroxydisulphate, the process being carried out in the presence of a catalyst copper sulphate (CuSO4•5H2O) at room temperature and a molar ratio KSCN: CuSO4•5H2O:K2S2O8:N-substituted-1H-pyrrole 3-4:0.1-0.2:2:1.
EFFECT: simplification of the process and obtaining the target product with the high output.
