FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building. A damping device comprises a casing with outer and inner cylinders forming an annular cavity. In the upper part of the annular cavity there installed is a piston with its bottom contacting with a loose absorbing medium which fills the space of the annular cavity under the piston. An additional piston with a resilient element set under it is installed in the lower part of the annular cavity. The annular cavity has a tapering zone formed by the profiled projection on the inner surface of the outer cylinder and/or on the outer surface of the inner cylinder.
EFFECT: impact energy absorption is provided without reverse movement of a falling body, return of the damping device into the initial position after the load removal.
