FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to two-stroke ICE with an additional piston. The invention allows higher reliability of the engines of the said type by making intake means in the form of, at least, one lower intake opening in the cylinder wall communicating with the charger. The said means represent an exhaust valve incorporating valve head with the valve stem and exhaust valve seat arranged in the cylinder head aligned with the cylinder. The exhaust valve features an axial space with moving connecting rod of the additional piston with a ledge on its top end. Here note that the axial space is blocked by a plug at its top part, while, at the bottom, the space has an internal ledge against which the rod head rests in down stroke thus limiting the travel of the additional piston. The exhaust valve is furnished with a drive incorporating one or several lifters arranged on the additional piston rod and acting on the valve, the latter being provided with a damper to soften the exhaust valve shock against its seat on closing. The said valve contains also means to keep it open in cleaning the cylinder of residual waste gases the combustion chamber is arranged between the cylinder head and additional piston in its extreme top position. The said piston travels between the combustion chamber and the intake opening top edge. The additional piston is linked with the main piston so that the lengthwise travel of the former relative to the latter is limited to provided for a fixed distance between them in filling the cylinder with a new charge.

EFFECT: higher-reliability two-stroke internal combustion engine.
