FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: in the proposed accumulator a part of air supplied into a system of electrolyte mixing is used to ventilate space under a cover. At the same time the speed of air supply into the space under the cover is equal to 1÷7 VCS per hour, where VCS - volume of the cover space of the accumulator. As a result of that hydrogen accumulation is prevented in the cover space, accordingly, probability of an explosive situation is eliminated during operation of lead-acid accumulators of high capacity.
EFFECT: exclusion of accumulation of critical content of hydrogen in a cover space of an accumulator and increased explosion safety of lead-acid accumulators of high capacity.
