SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 6-(aryl)-4-aminopicolinate of formula , where Q is Cl or Br; R is C1-C4alkyl; W is H, F or Cl; X is H, F, Cl or C1-C4alkoxy; Y is a halogen; Z is H or F; which includes heating a 3-halogen-6-(aryl)-4-iminotetrahydropicolinic acid ester of formula (I)

where R is C1-C4alkyl; R1 is -OS(O)2R2, -OC(O)R2 or -OC(O)OR2; R2 is C1-C4alkyl or unsubstituted or substituted phenyl; Q is Cl or Br; W is H, F or Cl; X is H, F, Cl or C1-C4alkoxy; Y is a halogen; Z is H or F; at temperature of 25°C to 150°C in the presence of a polar solvent and separating the product.

EFFECT: novel method of producing 6-(aryl)-4-aminopicolinate, characterised by simplicity and availability of reactants.
