FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: engine cooling system is provided additionally with a pressure differential switch or two pressure gauges of cooling liquid in the water pump. The alarm signalling equipment is provided additionally with signalling devices of critical pressure differential of cooling liquid in the water pump and automatic activation of the engine shutdown mechanism upon reaching a critical pressure differential in the water pump. The prevention of engine failure is provided by its shutdown in response to a signal received from the cooling water pressure differential switch or from the pressure gauges of cooling liquid in the water pump. In case the pressure differential of cooling liquid in the water pump drops down to a specified value a signal is supplied to the alarm signalling equipment and engine shutdown mechanism.

EFFECT: prevention of internal-combustion engine failure during transportation vehicle operation in case of partial or full loss of cooling liquid in the cooling system.
