CONTROL METHOD OF VEHICLE AUXILIARY POWER PLANT OPERATION MODES Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC F01P11/16 F01P5/14 F01P3/20 F02B77/08 F02D29/06

Abstract RU 2734540 C1

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at increasing service life of an internal combustion engine (ICE) of an auxiliary power plant (APP) of a vehicle, for example a combat caterpillar vehicle, and ensuring its uninterrupted operation. APP comprises control unit 2, including cooling system fan control relay, electronic unit and controller, providing double-mode protection against APP overload by disconnection of generator 7 when threshold values of oil temperature are reached and/or cooling liquid with subsequent resumption of electric energy generation after reduction of temperature of oil and cooling liquid below threshold values. In the first mode of operation, the APP cooling fan 3 is switched on from the APP on-board electric power source as per signal of the coolant temperature sensor-signaling device 1. In the second mode of operation the excitation winding of APP generator 7 of the vehicle engine is disconnected and connection of the main consumers of electrical energy of the vehicle is provided to vehicle onboard electric power source by signals of sensor-signaling device 9 to reach cooling liquid temperature threshold value and/or sensor-signaling device 10 to achieve ICE oil temperature threshold value.

EFFECT: technical result consists in uninterrupted supply of electric energy to consumers of vehicle, improved functionality, survivability of combat vehicle.
