IMPROVED CATHETER Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61B8/12

Abstract RU 2526262 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to catheters. A catheter comprises the catheter body, an external tube body, a deflecting element, a screw jaw, an electrical conductor and a passage. The deflecting element is adjacent to a distal end of the catheter body and comprises an electric device. The screw jaw connects the catheter body to the deflecting element and comprises an unassisted bended polymer element having the first segment connected to the distal end of the catheter body, and the second segment whereto the deflecting element is attached, and a segment of the screw jaw integrally connecting the first and second segments and enabling jointed rotation of the deflecting element in relation to the distal end of the catheter body. The electrical conductor is connected to the electric device and extends between the deflecting element and the distal end of the catheter body. The passage extending through the catheter body is designed to supply an intervention device outside the catheter. A method for making the catheter comprises attaching the body to a segment of the screw jaw holder by coupling a hole in the body and a projection of the segment of the holder; the electric device is arranged at the segment of the holder; glue is injected through an access hole to connect the body and the electric device, and to release air bubbles which can be found between the body and the electric device.

EFFECT: using the invention enables facilitating the selective position and control of the components at the distal end of the catheter with maintaining a relatively small profile.
