NEEDLE ASSEMBLY INCLUDING AN ALIGNED MAGNETIC ELEMENT Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B17/34 A61B5/06 A61B34/20

Abstract RU 2669621 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medical technology, namely, a referral system for assisting with the introduction of a needle into a patient's body. Needle assembly comprises a sleeve having a recess; a cannula distally extending from the sleeve along the longitudinal axis, the canula forming a distal tip of the needle; and a magnetic element included in the clutch. Magnetic member is disposed within the said recess and is movable and orientable within this recess and can be secured after movement and orientation. And the magnetic element defines the magnetic axis and is positioned so that its magnetic axis is aligned in the desired pre-defined orientation relative to the cannula. Method of applying a needle assembly includes: providing a needle assembly including a cannula extending along a longitudinal axis to a distal needle tip and a magnetic member including a magnetic axis and located within the recess of the needle assembly; orienting the magnetic member in such a manner that the magnetic axis is substantially aligned with the longitudinal axis of the cannula until the magnetic member is fixed in the recess; tracking the position of the magnetic element with determining the position of the distal tip of the needle; and inserting at least the distal needle tip into the patient's body using the monitored position of the distal needle tip. In a second embodiment of the needle assembly, the magnetic member includes an opening through which a part of the cannula passes. In this case, the magnetic element defines the magnetic axis and is arranged in such a way that the magnetic axis is substantially coaxially aligned with the longitudinal axis of the cannula.

EFFECT: inventions provide an increase in the accuracy of placing the distal needle tip in the patient's body.
