FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to catheters. The catheter comprises a catheter body, a divergent element and an activation device. The catheter body has an outer tubular body and one controlled portion for the catheter control. The divergent element is pivotally connected to a distal end of the catheter body by a pivot, and is set within the range of angles in relation to the catheter body when in operation. The divergent element comprises a body limiting a sealed enclosed volume and accommodating a collection of ultrasonic probes and a drive unit. The drive unit provides the reciprocation of the collection of the ultrasonic probes about the central axis of the divergent element or an axis parallel with the above central axis irrespective of the position of the divergent element; the drive unit is arranged in the proximal or distal direction from the collection of the ultrasonic probes inside the body. The activation device configured to activate a divergence of the divergent element irrespective of the drive unit operation. The activation device and the outer tubular body are configured to move differentially.

EFFECT: using the invention provides greater flexibility of the catheter control when moved in the pre-set direction and simplifying the divergence of the divergent element at a desired angle with maintaining a relatively low catheter profile.
