SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering, specifically to radio communication, and can be used in data transmission systems. The method is based on accumulating an array of measured phase differences between adjacent signal transmissions when transmitting payload and on restoring the distribution density of phase differences based on the accumulated array. The density is restored based on parameters that can be estimated, and the unknown bit error probability estimate is determined by integrating the estimated distribution density of phase differences between two elementary transmissions in given ranges in accordance with the used phase modulation ratio while providing a sliding estimate of link quality.
EFFECT: ensuring continuous transmission of payload in the entire allocated frequency band, obtaining a bit error probability estimate without introducing redundancy.
