FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: gear wheel comprises the body (1) and rim with teeth (2) with two lateral surfaces each. Each tooth has one lateral surface (4), with maximum load, it has the rated profile along the whole width of the tooth, and another lateral surface is less loaded, is has the rated profile (5) on the part of tooth width, and its another part has the profile as a plain (6, 7). The proportion of sections of both lateral working surfaces having the rated profile, is directly proportional to a proportion of values of their loading. The rated profile (5) of less loaded surface is located on a tooth centreline.
EFFECT: optimised design of gear wheels, lower metal input.
