SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an input device and methods of controlling an object using an input device. The method of controlling object scaling using an input device includes: using an input device motion sensor to determine a value on a first axis and starting a program when the value on the first axis matches the start condition, where the scaling program includes the following steps: using the input device motion sensor to determine a value on a second axis; and if the value on the second axis falls in a first range, starting a one-time scaling program, wherein the one-time scaling program includes the following steps: using an input device range sensor to determine the distance between two limbs; comparing the distance between the limbs with a reference value; if the distance between the limbs is greater than the reference value, generating an output scaling control signal to zoom in the object; and if the distance between the limbs is not greater than the reference value, generating an output scaling control signal to zoom out the object.
EFFECT: providing a simple, fast and direct method of scaling, through which objects are scaled using gestures without the need to remember different key combinations.
