The active sonar also includes series-connected PapostN determination unit, where PapostN is the a posteriori probability density of the class of the object on the current transmission N, PapostF determining unit, where PapostF is the a posteriori probability density of the class of the object on the set of transmissions F, and a unit for making a decision on the class of the object based on the set of transmissions, a Papr storage unit, where Papr is the a priori distribution density of the value of the classification parameter.

EFFECT: high probability of correct classification of a detected object by enabling determination of the class of a detected object based on a set of transmissions.
