FIELD: radar systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar and can be used in aircraft radar systems for the formation of a radar image (RI) of the earth or water surface. The technical result consists in increasing the rate of radar image formation and eliminating additional devices for estimating the position of the RP beam in space, which simplifies the equipment and reduces its weight and size characteristics. The claimed method consists in probing the earth or water surface, receiving, digitizing, compressing the range of the reflected signals, forming a two-dimensional range portrait of the view area by storing the aperture of the compressed in range signals in each sounding period during the synthesis time, forming samples of the trajectory signal samples from the generated two-dimensional long-range portrait in accordance with the laws of migration of point reflectors for each resolution element within the frame of the formed radar image, calculation of the brightness values of each radar image resolution element by demodulating the signals of the formed samples with subsequent summation of their readings. After the formation of a two-dimensional range portrait of the view area, the average Doppler frequency of the received signal is calculated, the drift angle of the radar carrier is determined, the array of coordinates of the radar image resolution elements located within the beam of the RP is formed, which are then used to form samples of the trajectory signal samples from the generated two-dimensional range portrait in accordance with the laws of migration of point reflectors for each resolution element within the RP beam of the formed radar image.
EFFECT: increasing the rate of radar image formation and eliminating additional devices for estimating the position of the RP beam in space, which simplifies the equipment and reduces its weight and size characteristics.
