FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to electrical engineering and is concerned with the method and device to perform the correction of slow loosening in a rotating shaft. According to the invention the measurement zone of a shaft is heated up to the prespecified temperature at the shaft rotation in order to change the electric properties of the shaft load bearing area. The shaft measurement zone is held under the prespecified temperature during the prespecified time interval, then it is rapidly cooled by a cooler immediately after the time interval is up to the end in order to cool the shaft measurement zone down to the room temperature. Additionally the cooler is delivered to the shaft zones being not measurement ones but adjacent to the measurement zone while the latter is heated.

EFFECT: improved quality of correction of slow loosening in a rotating shaft.
