FIELD: metallurgy of iron.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for producing hot briquetted iron. The apparatus is comprised of a loading module, a quantitative dosing module, a hot briquette moulding module, and a cylindrical cooling module. The loading module cools and transports direct reduced iron (DRI). The quantitative dosing module grinds DRI and unloads a fixed amount of DRI each time. The hot briquette moulding module moulds hot iron briquettes by hot pressing the DRI unloaded from the quantitative dosing module. The cooling module for cooling hot iron briquettes is comprised of a cylindrical body with an inlet and an outlet, an auger screw or a blade for transporting hot iron briquettes, and a nozzle for spraying cooling water. The auger screw and the nozzle for spraying cooling water are placed inside the cylindrical body. Hot iron briquettes are introduced into the cooling module through the inlet and unloaded from the cooling module through the outlet. The cooling water is removed from the cooling module through the inlet.
EFFECT: invention ensures production of low-temperature iron briquettes from DRI unloaded from the reduction furnace, facilitating handling of briquettes and transportation thereof.
