SUBSTANCE: method of storing silage and haylage comprises forming an upper layer of the silage mass by the convex one, applying on it of table salt and a chemical preservative, and then the heat-insulating straw layer. The table salt and the preservative are applied at a rate of 500-300 g of table salt and 200-250 g of preservative per 1 m². The straw layer is moistened to a moisture content of 30-35% with ammonium sulphate solution, compacted by adding ammonium sulphate and processing with the binder. The binder is used as lime.

EFFECT: reduction of losses of feed and pollution of its upper layer during storage.
