FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing epoxy compounds, particularly a method of producing 2,2-adamantylene spirooxirane of the general formula given below, where R1=H, R2=CN; R1=H, R2=CO(O)C2H5; R1=CH3, R2=CO(O)C2H5. Said compounds can be used as intermediate products in synthesis of biologically active amines and heterocyclic compounds. The method includes reacting adamantanone-2 with halogen-containing compounds selected from α-chloroacetonitrile, ethyl ether of α-chloroacetic acid and ethyl ether of α-chloropropionic acid in the presence of a catalyst. The catalyst used is lithium hexamethyldisilylamide, obtained by successive reaction of lithium with bromobenzene and hexamethyldisilazane. The process is carried out in molar ratio of lithium, bromobenzene, hexamethyldisilazane, adamantanone and the halogen derivative of carboxylic acids of 2.8-3.2:1.4-1.5:2.1-2.3:1:1.4-1.54, respectively.
EFFECT: wider range of epoxy derivatives of adamantane and carrying out the method in mild conditions.
