SUBSTANCE: described are cyclopentadienyl derivatives of general formula I: wherein R₁, R₂ and are hydrogen; R₄ is selected from hydrogen or alkyl radical having 1-5 carbon atoms; n is integer of 6 to 10. Also described is method of preparing said cyclopentadienyl derivatives used as ligands for preparing transition metal complexes, more particularly zirconium, typical catalyst components in (co) polymerization of alpha-olefins.
