FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of organic chemistry, in particular to method of obtaining α,ω-{bis[(pentan-2,4-dion-3-yl)methylsulphanyl]}-alkanes of general formula (1): where n=1-6, characterised by the fact that formaldehyde (37%) is subjected to interaction with hydrogen sulphide or α,ω-dithiol and acetylacetone in presence of catalyst BF₃·Et₂O with molar ratio CH₂O:hydrogen sulphide:acetylacetone BF₃·Et₂O=3:2:2:(0.03-0.07) or CH₂O:α,ω-dithiol:acetylacetone:BF₃·Et₂O=2:1:2:(0.03-0.07), at room temperature (~20°C) and atmospheric pressure for 5-7 h in mixture of solvents chloroform-ethanol (volumes 1:1).

EFFECT: elaborated is method of obtaining α,ω-{bis[(pentan-2,4-dion-3-yl)methylsulphanyl]}-alkanes, which can be applied as selective sorbents, extractants, complexants and biologically active substances.
