FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing 1,2(1,5)-{bis[alkyl-(2-cyano-3-sulphanyl)propanoate]}ethane(sulphane-3-ylpentanes) by the general formula (1), applicable as chelating agents. The method consists in the interaction of dithiols with formaldehyde and bifunctional CH acids in the presence of a catalyst. The method is characterised using α,ω-alkanedithiols by the general formula HS-X-SH (wherein X=C2H4; (C2H4)2S) as dithiols, using alkyl-2-cyanoacetates (methyl-2-cyanoacetate or ethyl-2-cyanoacetate) as bifunctional CH acids, and piperidine as a catalyst. The reaction is conducted by premixing α,ω-alkanedithiols with formaldehyde for 30 minutes, then adding methyl-2-cyanoacetate or ethyl-2-cyanoacetate and a catalyst at a molar ratio α,ω-alkanedithiol : formaldehyde : methyl-2-cyanoacetate or ethyl-2-cyanoacetate : piperidine = 1:2:2:(0.03 to 0.07) in ethanol, then stirring at a temperature of 60°C for 2 to 4 hours.
EFFECT: possibility of producing 1,2(1,5)-{bis[alkyl-(2-cyano-3-sulphanyl)propanoate]}ethane(sulphane-3-ylpentanes) with good outputs.
